Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

Located in Victoria, approximately 50 km northeast of Melbourne, the Yarra Valley stretches along the river of the same name, with vineyards ranging in elevation from 50 to 400 meters above sea level.

With a cool and temperate climate and moderate rainfall throughout the year, the region of the Yarra Valley is one of the best for Pinot Noir viticulture. This can be attributed to the Yarra Valley's long growing season and low humidity, which is ideal for grape growing.

Viticulture in the Yarra Valley dates back to the mid-19th century when Swiss settlers planted the first vineyards. However, it wasn't until the 1960s that the region began to gain a reputation for producing high-quality wines. The first commercial winery in the Yarra Valley was established in 1963 by Dr. Bailey Carrodus, who planted the first vines at Yarra Yering.

Today, the Yarra Valley is home to many well-known wineries, producing a range of varietals, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and more.
