Santolin Wines is a family‑owned winery named after its founders, Adrian and Rebecca Santolin. Adrian serves as chief winemaker and began working in the industry at just 15 years old. A passionate devotee of Pinot Noir, he honed his craft at renowned estates including Wedgetail, Rochford, De Bortoli, Sticks and Rob Dolan Wines. A career path reminiscent of Ricky Evans of Tasmania’s Two Tonne Wines. In 2012 Adrian realized his dream when he secured two tonnes of Pinot Noir fruit from the Syme‑on‑Yarra Vineyard. That inaugural vintage opened the door to his own label and set Santolin Wines on its course. By 2014 they had earned “Best New Act” at the Young Gun Awards and soon began collecting trophies at major competitions such as HKIWSC and Decanter Asia. Most recently, the Santolins invested the money they had originally earmarked for a family home into purchasing the Gladysdale Vineyard. It’s a bold choice—only a fool would risk a mortgage on a vineyard, or someone who truly understands how to make exceptional wine. Having tasted their single‑vineyard Pinot Noir myself, I am convinced they are the latter.
