Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir

Beautiful Pinot From the Adelaide Hills Wine Region

Adelaide Hills, nestled within South Australia’s Mount Lofty Ranges, is one of the country’s most dynamic wine regions—and a true haven for Pinot Noir. Its cool, elevated climate, combined with diverse soils and dramatic microclimates, creates the perfect conditions for growing this delicate grape. The region’s higher altitudes and significant day–night temperature variations allow Pinot Noir grapes to ripen slowly, preserving their natural acidity while developing complex, nuanced flavors. The result is a wine that’s silky and elegant, with vibrant notes of cherry and strawberry, and a refined, earthy underpinning that speaks to its terroir. This unique expression of Pinot Noir not only stands on its own as a superb red but also contributes to the region’s acclaimed sparkling wines. With a strong focus on sustainable practices and innovative winemaking, Adelaide Hills continues to set the benchmark for cool-climate elegance in Australian wine.

The Adelaide Hills wine region is located in the Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia, about 20 kilometres southeast of Adelaide, the closest major city.

Viticulture in the Adelaide Hills dates back to the mid-1800s, with the planting of the first vineyards by German settlers. However, it wasn't until the 1970s and 80s that the region began to gain recognition for its high-quality wines.

The first commercial winery in the Adelaide Hills was established in 1978 by Brian Croser, who planted the first vines at Petaluma. Croser's focus on cool-climate varietals helped establish the region as a producer of premium wines.
