What strikes you most is the lovely balance between fruit and savoury character, with bright berries, perfumed florals, tilled earth and some cured meat flavours supporting a structure of sappy/crunchy acidity and juicy, enveloping tannins.

The aim for KK01 has always been to craft a delicious, earth-to-glass Pinot with immediate charm and early appeal.Popping with fresh-berry fragrance and savoury, spicy depth, it’s a real charmer.

A complex and structural Pinot Noir with gravelly tannins and lifted sweet spice which opens up to layers of sour cherry, herbal notes and dense plum.

Bright, pale ruby in the glass. Lean, angular body balanced with juicy acidity and firm tannin. Exhibits aromatic, notes of blackcurrant leaf with crunchy redcurrants, cranberry, and red cherry with hints of vanilla and toast on the lengthy finish.

The basalt based underlying volcanic soil and rock produce a characteristically fine yet extended, spicy and firm palate.

The palate is long, showing dark berry fruits, nutmeg spice and hints of earthiness from the whole bunch. Defined tannins help to provide definition and length.

A lovely lightness, where the wine dances across the palate and finishes fresh and lifted. The tannins sit more in the background, just enough to add texture and structure and keep the wine composed.

The palate follows a similar path of red berry fruit particularly raspberries with a river pebble tannin providing structure. Lively acid gives freshness, this should evolve to be a classic Yarra Pinot Noir.

Fragrant nose of dried strawberries, raspberries, hibiscus, potpourri and nutmeg. It’s medium-bodied with finely knit tannins. Silky and perfumed, with a lengthy, floral finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

The front palate shows the cherry and strawberry fruit characters. There is a silky texture and wonderful balance running through the mid palate, with the quality French oak adding subtle charry characters. The tannins are fine and balanced, combining with a tight acid structure to give a long, lingering and powerful finish. The light gaminess adds complexity, which will continue to develop with age.

The palate is medium bodied with juicy red cherries, soft acid and fine chalky tannins.

The palate has a tight linear acid line with chalky tannins that showcases raspberries and cherries along with a fleshy body.

A perfumed nose with vibrant red and dark cherry notes, leads onto bold red fruit on the palate, underscored by fine tannins and a velvety texture.
