The palate has all the hallmark red-fruits, hints of mushroom and a complexing smoky oak edge. The beautiful, chalky tannin from the whole bunch component perfectly complement the fresh fruits.

These slowly-ripened grapes develop pure fruit flavours, fresh natural acidi ty and are perfect for making world class cool-climate wines.

The front palate shows the cherry and strawberry fruit characters. There is a silky texture and wonderful balance running through the mid palate, with the quality French oak adding subtle charry characters. The tannins are fine and balanced, combining with a tight acid structure to give a long, lingering and powerful finish. The light gaminess adds complexity, which will continue to develop with age.

Great concentration of flavours and natural tannin structure.After discovering Yarra Valley wines 25 years ago Lou Primavera planted this vineyard in Hoddles Creek in 2001. We have a long-standing relationship with the Primavera family - having sourced fruit from the vineyard for some years. Testament to the increasing quality of this site, we are now producing a single vineyard Pinot Noir from Primavera.

The palate is bright and energetic with red fruit flavours filling out the mid palate, the finish is long and uplifting. This is an elegant and finely structured McCrone Pinot Noir, characteristic of the 2018 vintage.
