Yarra Valley, VIC, Australia
The 2024 vintage of Long Walk Pinot Noir captures the elegance and quiet power of Helen’s Hill’s singular Coldstream site—a family-owned vineyard in the heart of the Yarra Valley, where geology, elevation and clone diversity converge. Grown on grey loam and clay-rich soils, the Long Walk block combines MV6, 115, Pommard, and Abel clones across varied micro-aspects to craft a layered, cool-climate Pinot of tension and beauty.
A cooler, longer ripening season in 2024 resulted in fruit with vivid aromatics, greater depth, and structural drive. Fermented using a minimalist, hands-off approach, the wine shows a lifted bouquet of wild strawberry, raspberry, clove and forest floor. On the palate, it is medium-bodied but firm and assertive, with red cherry, cranberry, and savoury spice wrapped in fine, mineral-tinged tannins. Notes of dried herbs and earth echo on the long, focused finish.
