VIC, Australia
From the rugged granite hills of the Strathbogie Ranges comes a wild-hearted, finely sculpted Pinot Noir crafted for those who love food, wine, and the thrill of the hunt. The 2022 vintage of Fowles' cult-favourite "Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch" Pinot Noir is a vivid expression of cool-climate viticulture and minimalist winemaking, with a firm nod to the adventurous spirit behind the label.
Sourced from the HA block at Billi’s Vineyard and Block 3 at Upton Run, this Pinot was selectively harvested in mid-March 2022. The fruit was cold-soaked for four days before wild fermentation in stainless steel. The wine was then matured for 12 months in predominantly seasoned 500L French oak puncheons, preserving vibrancy while adding gentle savoury depth.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby hue with violet edges. The bouquet offers forest berries, perfumed dark fruit and dried spice. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with juicy black cherry, plum and wild herbs, framed by fine tannins and balanced oak. A whisper of spice and dried earth lingers through the long finish.
