Gippsland, VIC, Australia
Xavier Goodridge is a rising star of Victorian winemaking. Originally from Bendigo, he cut his teeth managing a wine bar in London at 18, then returned to Australia to study winemaking and viticulture. After six years as assistant winemaker at Bress Estate learning biodynamic farming and low-intervention techniques — plus annual vintages in France and Italy — he launched his own label in 2016.
Based in Maffra, Gippsland, Goodridge farms the organically managed Avon Vineyard, originally planted in the late 1980s. His philosophy is minimal intervention: letting the vineyard speak. The Gippsland Pinot Noir is hand-crafted in small batches, matured in large-format French oak to preserve purity and freshness. Expect lifted aromas of dark cherry and wild strawberry with earthy, forest-floor complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with bright acidity, elegant structure, and silky tannins leading to a long, refined finish.
