Crafted at the family-run Stumpy Gully Vineyard in Moorooduc, the 2023 Pinot Noir is a deeply expressive offering shaped by a typically dry vintage and meticulous site management. The result: a varietally pure wine of clarity, structure and approachable sophistication.

The fruit was sourced from established estate blocks—including the original West‑facing Home Block (planted 1989), the Crooked Post (2007 plantings), and Black Night vineyards—all planted to a mix of French clones including MV6, D clones and heritage material.

Vivid plum and strawberry aromas lead the nose, with a hint of spicy oak adding lift and complexity. On the palate, the wine shows mid-body depth and supple red-berry fruit balanced by firm acidity. Toasted oak brings savoury spice while earthy notes and fine tannins add structure and persistence. Designed to drink well now, but with cellaring potential of 3–5 years.

Tasting Note
Lifted aromas of ripe red cherries and raspberries emerge first, layered with spicy oak and subtle forest-floor nuance. The palate is medium-bodied and refreshing, with fine-grained tannins, crisp acidity, and notes of baked plum, savoury spice and a mineral-laced finish. Elegant yet food-friendly, offering bright fruit framed in a savoury cloak.

FinePinot Note
A refined expression of Mornington Peninsula terroir—savoury, mid-weight and accessible. Built for both drinking now or gently cellaring. A perfect companion to roast duck, mushroom risotto or grilled salmon—without breaking the premium dial.
