Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia
Perfumed floral and red fruits combined with spice and leather. A soft luscious palate with bright fruits and structural long tannins.
The Old Hill vineyard was already 42 years old when Maurice O’Shea arrived from France in 1921. It is here O’Shea recognised the hills of the Southern Rhone Valley – rising toward the Brokenback Range. This historic hillside site of rich soil and granite is home to the oldest Pinot Noir vineyard in Australia – and produces some of our most prestigious red wine.
93 points - The Wine Front
"Sweet cherry scents, Cherry Ripe whiff, cherry pith, cold brew coffee mouthfeel with more… cherries. Clove and orange tension, vibrancy, spice and shapely tannin, bouncy in the mouth, a bit nervy but lifted character, acidity punches with freshly crushed green peppercorns finish."
