Central Otago, New Zealand
From Bannockburn’s organically certified Towan Vineyard and Cairnmuir Terraces, the 2022 Carrick ‘Unravelled’ is the estate’s most approachable and earliest-drinking Pinot Noir. It reflects Carrick’s philosophy of minimal intervention, hand-crafted winemaking, and deep respect for the land—practised since converting to full organics in 2008. The name, inspired by the Carrick Bend knot on the label, symbolises a loosening of ties—an easy-drinking Pinot for everyday enjoyment. carrick Unravelled Pino…unpn22-tasting-note
A blend of nine different parcels, each hand-picked between 20–31 March 2022, fermented with indigenous yeast, and incorporating 29% whole bunch to enhance spice and texture. Maturation took place over eight months in seasoned French oak before bottling in early 2023. The result is a Pinot Noir that is light on its feet yet layered, with purity of fruit and gentle complexity. unpn22-tasting-note

Tasting Note
The nose offers fresh dark-skinned cherry, wild forest berries, raspberry and strawberry, lifted by rose petals, fine lees complexity, and dried herb hints. The palate is silky and light-bodied, with chalky tannins, a bright acid line, and soft oak spice weaving through the red fruit core. Balanced and quaffable, it’s a wine that invites another glass. carrick Unravelled Pino…

“Pristine bouquet of ripeness and variety… chalky tannin texture, red berry fruits, contrasting acidity, raspberry, strawberry, cherry, rose, and fine lees complexity. A lovely lighter-weight expression with spice and soft oak complexity. Well made and ready to drink from mid to late 2025 through 2030+.” carrick Unravelled Pino…
